Each digest arrives as a curated reading list drawing from Japanese institutions and selected international sources. Every entry carries a brief contextual note — enough to understand why the piece matters and whether it is worth your time.
The aim is not comprehensiveness. It is selectivity. A shorter list of genuinely relevant material, prepared by someone who has done the reading, is more useful than an automated feed that expects you to filter it yourself.
Three digests per quarter
One each month, covering the period's most relevant developments in the agreed technical domain. Delivered on a consistent schedule.
Annotated, not aggregated
Each entry includes a note explaining its significance in context — not just a title and a link. The curation reflects considered editorial judgement, not keyword matching.

We draw from institutional publications, conference proceedings, and research outputs from Japanese and selected international sources, with language access in both EN and JP.

How the Curation Works
At the start of each quarterly engagement, we agree on the technical domain and the kinds of sources most relevant to your work. This scoping conversation takes no more than thirty minutes and shapes the three digests that follow.
Each month, we review the period's output across agreed source categories. We select the entries that represent a meaningful development, note why each matters, and compile the list. The format is consistent: each entry carries a title, source, date, and a paragraph of context.
The digest is not exhaustive, and it is not meant to be. It is edited, in the same sense that a good journal is edited — with a considered view about what warrants attention.
Before the quarter begins
We agree on the technical domain, the source categories most relevant to your work, and any particular threads or sub-topics to keep watch on during the quarter.
Each month
A curated reading list covering the month's notable developments, with contextual notes for each entry. Delivered on a consistent date each month.
End of quarter
A brief check-in to review whether the scope and sources served the quarter well. Any adjustments are made before the next engagement begins.
What the Experience Feels Like
When the digest arrives, there is no filtering to do. The selection has been made. You can read from the top, dip in at the entries most relevant to current work, or save it for a quieter moment.
The hours that would otherwise go to scanning journals, checking preprint servers, or managing alert services can be redirected. The monitoring is handled; your time is for the work that needs it.
After a quarter, there is a reasonable basis for saying you know what has moved in your field during that period. That kind of grounded awareness is worth something in a meeting, a proposal, or a planning conversation.

This covers the scoping conversation, all three monthly digests, and the end-of-quarter review. There are no per-entry or per-source charges. The price is fixed for the quarter regardless of field complexity.

Progress across the quarter is straightforward to observe: you have three digests covering a domain you care about, each representing a month's worth of relevant output. Over time, the accumulated digests provide a running record of how a field has moved — which is itself a useful reference document.
